Traveling County Fair hits town

TONIGHT: The Sonoma County Fair opens in Santa Rosa later this month, but Sonoma gets a sneak preview Tuesday, July 15 when a road show Traveling Fair visits Sonoma Plaza from 4 to 8 p.m.

The free mini fair, decorated with colorful flags and banners, will offer free popcorn, balloons and a few carnival games with free prizes for all. Visitors are invited to stop by to help with a giant coloring mural, enjoy music, and spin the giant prize wheel for a chance to go home with free fair tickets.

The tour stop presents a sampler of this year’s Sonoma County Fair with its ‘60s theme, “Peace, Love & Fair,” which opens July 24 and runs through August 10 at the fairgrounds in Santa Rosa (closed Mondays).
