Lexy bites the Big Apple

How do you get to be 30 years old and then discover that the most successful relationship of your life is with your blender? Broadway performer Lexy Fridell recounts life in New York as an aspiring actress in her one-woman show “Brace Yourself! Tales of Braces, Broadway, Dating & Drool” July 12 and 13 at Château St. Jean Winery.

Drool? That’s when she danced in a Tony-winning musical with her jaw wired shut. Oh, the glamour of Broadway!

Fridell has shown her range of comedic and musical talents in Broadway shows “Avenue Q” “The Pee-Wee Herman Show. Off-Broadway credits include “Avenue Q” and “Gone Missing.” Other gigs range creating the role of Dory in the Disney musical “Finding Nemo,” and appearing in a SNL digital short.

Brace Yourself is the first concert in the 2014 Transcendence Artist Series, a collection of featured performers presented in intimate locations throughout Sonoma County.

“It’s beyond my wildest dreams that a truly magical theatre company like Transcendence has settled right here in the incredible community of Sonoma,” Fridell said. “It’s a dream come true to have been given the opportunity to develop my own show and perform right here in my home town. So grab a glass of Cinq Cepage and get ready to ‘Brace Yourself.’”

“Brace Yourself “ runs Saturday and Sunday, July 12 and 13, 7:30 p.m. Château St. Jean is located at 8855 Sonoma Hwy. in Kenwood. General admission tickets are $35 and VIP $60. 877.424.1414. Ttcsonoma.org.
