The theatre production “Passage Project: A Musical Showcase,” directed and performed by teenagers and young adults, plays Andrews Hall on June 10 and 11. The show, from the Experiential Theatre Company, features songs from the musicals “American Idiot” and “Spring Awakening.”

Cat Austin, the founder of ETC!, has stepped out of the director’s chair for this project and is letting young adults take the lead.

Berkeley Rousseau, a 20-year-old college student, leads the group as director with the help of Tessa Hope Morgan, 15, as assistant director. The cast includes college students LA Bates, Alexander Belmont and Alexis Pierce. Joining the ensemble are high school students Lucy Bunter, Nica Love, Annie Morgan and Hannah Wakefield.

Many of young performers appeared in ETC’s recent production of “Rent: The Next Generation.”

“This is not only a showcase of talent, but of who we are,” Morgan said. “When something is made by people giving all of their heart and soul, it is really something amazing to witness.”

Beyond a show with great sets, lights and blocking, Morgan said, “it takes a group of people willing to get very vulnerable and real to really make something extraordinary.”

This showcase is part of the Sonoma Nights Showcase Series. Shows are on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10 and 11, 7 p.m. Andrews Hall at the Sonoma Community Center. $10-$15. Svbo.org.
