New show at Arts Guild

The painting “The Dream: White Raven” is one of Christine MacDonald’s new works included, along with multi-media sculptures by Pat Biggs, in The Arts Guild of Sonoma exhibition opening May 2 with an evening reception.

Also in the gallery is the annual “Cheap but Grand” exhibition, for which Guild artists, board members and community members were given a blank 8” x 8” canvases to create art using, said the Guild’s Nina Small, “any and all types of media that would stick to it – paint, encaustic, collage, clay, fiber, wood, glass, metal, feathers or anything one could think of.” Each will be priced at $100, thus the “cheap but grand.”

The reception, with wine and snacks, is open to the public from 6 to 8 p.m. The gallery is located at 140 E. Napa St. Admission is free and gallery hours are Wednesday to Monday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. 996.3115. Artsguildofsonoma.org.
