“Comedian, truth teller and lactose intolerant Italian” Sal Calanni has been described as a crotchety old man trapped in the body of a dashing young man, still working out issues from growing up in a conservative Sicilian family. Coming to Murphy’s Irish Pub on Saturday, April 26, Calanni has “crawled through the comedy ranks” at clubs all over the country, working with performers such as Dave Chappelle, Dave Attell, Bill Burr, Greg Giraldo, Robert Schimmel, John Caparulo, and many more.
Also on the bill: Red Scott, proud to be fat, asthmatic, and socially inept years before Asperger’s was a syndrome or obesity an epidemic; and San Franciscan Bert DiVietri, who was a regular at the Purple Onion and co-founded of the comedy hip-hop group Death Ray Astray. 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Hosted by Torio Van Grol. $12-$15, two drink minimum. 464 First St. E. 935.0660.
