Gifted performers shine in ‘Holiday Follies’

Dozens of Sonoma’s finest performing artists take to the stage December 7 in a lighthearted and zany celebration of the holiday season, the Sonoma Community Center’s third annual “Holiday Follies Naughty and Nice Holiday All-Star Spectacular!”

“This event is part Ziegfeld follies, part vaudeville, part night club entertainment,” said Margaret Hatcher, costume designer and special projects manager at SCC. “Sonoma has so many talented people this is a perfect opportunity to hear something lighthearted and fun.”

Slated to appear on the Rotary Stage at Andrews Hall are Ilene Briggin, Defying Gravity, Free Spirits Gospel Choir, The Hot Flashes, Hula Mai, Kim Hughes, Meagan James and Hannah Porter, Karin Neihoff, Jennie Norse, Steve Quintana, Micaelia Randolph, Paula Szoka, Mary Sue Ulven-Rank, Vox Populi and Jennifer Wood.

SCC Music Director Cynthia Tarr will preside over the 8 p.m. show as mistress of ceremonies, as well as perform with the Follies house band: Sean Carscadden on guitar, Cliff Hugo on bass, and Mikey Cannon on drums. The event is appropriate for all ages.

“I guarantee you will leave in the holiday spirit,” Hatcher promised.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for a pre-show reception featiring the ”Santa’s Whiskers” cocktail.
