Pulling together

Free horse-drawn wagon rides are part of the family fun at the North Coast Draft Horse and Mule Association’s 30th annual draft horse Plowing Play Day at Jack London State Historic Park on Sunday, May 19. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the event features plowing and harnessing demos, medieval horseback Skill at Arms, blacksmiths and a display of early model gas engines.

The working horses include Clydesdale, Percheron, Belgian and the breed Jack London himself raised, Shire. Free admission. Food and beverage available for purchase throughout the Beauty Ranch grounds. $10 per car parking fee. 2400 London Ranch Road, Glen Ellen. 938.5216. Jacklondonpark.com.
