As the center of his 66,000-acre land grant, General Mariano Vallejo chose this Petaluma hilltop for his rancho and factory, where up to 2,000 people once toiled. Petaluma Adobe Living History Day recreates that 1840’s era on Saturday, May 11, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as visitors can meet the vaqueros, traders, cooks, crafts men and women, musicians and others who lived in Old California.
Volunteers in authentic period garb will present crafts demonstrations and historical skits that reveal the stories of the past. Picnic welcome; Drink and food concessions are not available in the park. Admission for adults (age 17 and older) is $3, children (age 6 to 16) $2, 5 and under enter free. Petaluma Adobe State Historic Park is located at 3325 Adobe Road in Petaluma between Casa Grande Road and Frates Road.
