The film“5 Broken Cameras,” an Academy Award nominee for best documentary, presents a first-hand account of Palestinian non-violent resistance to the Israeli army. It was made by Palestinian farmer Emad Burnat, who bought a camera in 2005 to record the birth of his son.
The years pass, captured by new cameras to replace the old ones, as protests intensify and lives are lost. After the film there will be a Q-and-A session with three Sonomans recently returned from Palestine — Rich Hacker, Kenny Walter and Jim McFadden. Wednesday, April 17. 7 p.m. $8. Sebastiani Theatre. 996.2020.
