Experiential Theatre Company (ETC! Productions) will hold auditions this weekend for the summer production of “Cabaret,” under the direction of Cat Austin, with choreography by Staci Arriaga.
Session are schedule for Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at en*er*gy Fitness Studio, 450 First St. E, Suite J, with callbacks slated in the same location on Saturday, April 13.
Austin is known for her non-traditional casting. “Staci and I are looking for actor/singer/dancers who are willing to explore ‘outside-the-box’ interpretation of their characters,” said Austin.
Auditioners may choose either day, April 6 or 7, and should plan to stay for entire time. A prepared two-minute dramatic monologue is required, as well as 16 bars of song demonstrating the singer’s vocal range; bring chord chart or recorded accompaniment. Actors should wear soft-soled dance shoes and dress to dance full out.
“Cabaret” opens on Friday night, July 12, with performances Thursdays-Sundays through July 28. Vocal rehearsals begin the week of April 15; dance rehearsals begin the week of April 30. A stipend for gas is offered for traveling actors who are cast.
“Cabaret,” part of the Sonoma Theatre Alliance’s Festival of Theatre 2013, will be presented on the Rotary Stage in the newly renovated Andrews Hall of the Sonoma Community Center. Call 363.8721 for more information.
