At a gathering of 100 donors to Sonoma Valley Hospital’s Capital Campaign, Gerri Brinton, a member of the Campaign Cabinet, signs a support beam of the new wing scheduled for completion in November. It will house an expanded Emergency Department on the first floor and a state-of-the art surgery center on the second floor.
Guests at the March 20 event celebrated the progress of the construction and the fundraising effort. The majority of the expansion is funded by a general obligation bond, but philanthropy is needed to complete the project. So far, $5.7 million has been raised towards the $11 million goal. In addition, the Vadasz family has pledged a $2 million challenge grant. “You made this possible with your generous gifts and pledges and your commitment to the health of everyone in our community,” CEO Kelly Mather told the crowd.
