With the likes of Throckmorton Gildersleeve, the Old-Timer and Mayor LaTrivia taking part in the weekly shenanigans, the “Fibber McGee and Molly Show” was one of the first radio comedies to use regular, reoccurring characters. The catch phrases and running gags drove the show, one of the most popular on radio, from 1939 all the way to 1959.
One of the classic episodes from the ‘McGee’ vault will be recreated “live” on March 24 and 25 as the Old Time Radio Dinner Theater series continues at Murphy’s Irish Pub. The cast: Jeremy Berrick; Jeff Dreyer; Julia Holsworth; Sherrill Peterson; Bill Shea and Sharry Simpson.
Tickets to the 5;30 p.m. shows are $35 and include a multiple-course dinner and the stage show. Tickets are on sale at the pub at 464 First St. E., 815.6159 or Sonomapub.com.
