Jazz in the back

Dick Conte has been an integral part of the Bay Area jazz scene for more than 50 years, both as a radio broadcaster (at the fabled KJAZ to the last-standing KCSM), and a talented piano player, opening for the likes of Cassandra Wilson and Tony Bennett.

Here, joined by Steve Webber on drums and Bill Moody on drums, he works the more intimate scene of the lounge-like backroom. Friday, Feb. 1. 7 p.m. No cover. Plaza Bistro. 996.4466. Presented by the Sonoma Jazz Society.
