San Francisco Opera’s production of Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly,” recorded live in high-def at the War Memorial Opera House, comes to the Sebastiani Theatre on Sunday, January 6 at 1 p.m.
“The Chronicle” called it “a compelling and almost breathlessly taut rendition of this timeless tragedy,” and said soprano Patricia Racette as Cio-Cio-San, the geisha torn between two worlds, offers “an incendiary performance.”
