After dropping the opening set of Saturday night’s North Coast Section Division III playoff match with visiting Miramonte, the Sonoma Lady Dragons rallied and swept the next three sets for a convincing victory at Pfeiffer Gym which improves their record to 27-7 on the season.

The win sets up a meeting with surprising Drake, who upset #1 NCS playoff seed Bishop O’Dowd. The stunning upset by Drake allows the Lady Dragons (# 4 seed) to host their semifinal match, played Wednesday night at Pfeiffer Gym, with results unavailable at press time.

The Lady Dragons have reeled off a series of impressive wins, including capturing the SCL Tournament as the fourth-seeded team and have been impressive in limiting their mistakes in recent matches.

After falling 22-25 in the opening set the Lady Dragons dominated play in the next three, winning by scores of 25-22, 25-18 and 25-23.

Karly Burningham had 36 digs in the win and Jersey Witous did a stellar job serving, gaining seven points including an ace.
