The September 10 festivities will include dinner, dancing, casino-style gaming and a faster-paced auction, plus a martini bar and a dessert lounge.
“I want this year’s “Wet Paint On The Strip” to be the party of the year in Sonoma,” said Event Chair Barbara Pascoe. “It will be a hot spot of art and culture, fun and laughter, prizes and surprises.”
Committee member Michael Muscardini is enthusiastic about the new direction. “We’ve taken the traditional auction out of this event,” he said. Rather than a long stretch of auction descriptions and bidding, “We’re planning a fast paced and fun experience while remembering that the ultimate goal is to raise money to support the museum.”
This year’s Fund-A-Need is to replenish the Charlotte Lamb Exhibition Reserve Fund. Established in 2008 to honor the Sonoma Valley philanthropist and community supporter, the fund helps defray costs associated with presenting the museum’s high-profile exhibitions, such as the current David Hockney show.
The event begins at 7 p.m, with music from Sue Albano and Stan Pappas, with John Simon on the piano. DJ Jason Aquino will ramp things up with a dance party groove until midnight.
Tickets are $250 and include $50 in ‘funny money’ for the casino games. For more information and ticket sales, contact 939.7862 or svma.org/wetpaint .
