Free outdoor movie series

St. Francis Winery promises “stars under the stars,” plus unique live entertainment, for its 2nd annual Summer Film Festival running Thursday nights through August 18.
On July 14, the featured flick is “Big Night,” the delicious 1995 comedy about a failing Italian restaurant run by two brothers who stage one special night to try to save the business. The evening includes pre-show music and entertainment by “the wildest lounge act duo west of the Vegas Strip”, the Atomic Lounge Show.
“Moonstruck,” with Cher, Nicolas Cage, Danny Aiello and Olympia Dukakis, plays July 21. Local band “The Cork Pullers” kicks off the evening with live acoustic music.
Future flicks in the series include “Ferris Beuller’s Day Off” (July 28); “American Graffiti” (Aug. 4) and “Field of Dreams” (Aug. 11).
Movies begin at 7:30 p.m. Guests are invited to bring blankets, low chairs and picnics for the lawn. Featured wines paired to each movie will be sold by the glass. The winery is located at 100 Pythian Road, west of Kenwood. For more info contact or 888.675.9463.
