Children and grown-ups alike get cozy in the first Sundown Stories evening at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art. The series continues July 20 with storyteller Cathryn Fairlee and the tale of “Rumpelstilzchen” – the fairy-tale “manikin” who spins straw into gold. The series coincides with the Museum’s current exhibition of David Hockney etchings based on Grimm fairy tales. Fairlee will also tell the tale of “Fundevogel,” in which a nasty old cook has a most unappetizing plan for a pot of boiling water. The event runs from 8 to about 9 p.m. Hot chocolate, juice and cookies will be available, along with coffee and tea. Children are free, and adults are $5. Advance registration is encouraged, as are a pillow, blanket, snuggling and even pajamas. The Museum is located at 551 Broadway. For more contact 939.7862 or svma.org.
