NASCAR in Sonoma

Kurt Busch won Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Infineon Raceway, the first road course victory of his NASCAR career. Jeff Gordon, who has won the race five times, finished second; another crowd favorite, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was knocked out of the race after multi-car crash on the 37th lap. The weekend raised more than $175,000 for Sonoma County youth groups through events such as the Children’s Champions Grand Marshal’s Banquet, a 500-plate affair at Cline Cellars.  “The excitement and celebrity appeal of NASCAR creates multiple opportunities to leverage the generosity of our fans, sponsors and members of the community,” said Steve Page, president and general manager of Infineon Raceway.  “This was a terrific result for Speedway Children’s Charities and we thank everyone who combined to make it happen.”
