Screen and be seen

The 14th Sonoma International Film Festival faded to black Sunday night after 90 films (and countless parties) over five schmooze-packed days. “What started out as a festival that hosted great parties has grown into a festival where the films equal our wine country hospitality,” said Festival Director Kevin McNeely. “This year really raised the bar.” Audience awards went to “Darwin,” voted Festival Favorite, and “Good Day For It,” picked as Favorite Feature. The jury award for Best Narrative Feature went to “Absentia,” the festival’s first horror film. And yes, Susan Sarandon, live at the Sebastiani Theatre for a Lifetime Achievement Award tribute, looked fabulous.
