Author and economist John Perkins

Author and economist John Perkins discusses a move away from predatory capitalism and into an era more transformative than the Agricultural and Industrial Revolutions. As in his new book “Hoodwinked,” Perkins outlines a blueprint for a new form of global economics, with specific steps to create a sustainable, just, and peaceful world.

Perkins will appear at 8 p.m. at Sonoma Community Center, Andrews Hall, 276 E. Napa. His “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” spent 70 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. His second book, “The Secret History of the American Empire,” detailed the clandestine operations that created the world’s first truly global empire.

Tickets, $15, are available at Readers’ Books, 939.2973, or praxispeace.org.
