Trailing 4-3 the Sonoma Dragons rallied for two runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Rancho Cotate Cotate Cougars Monday afternoon in a contest played at Cardinal Newman High School.

Sophomore Brennan Cole went the distance for the win, scattering seven hits while striking out four. Cole had pinpoint control, facing only six batters over the minimum and did not allow a base on balls. Cole also drove in Will Rose with the game-winning hit in the seventh inning.

Offensively the Dragons opened up the running game, stealing four bases in as many attempts. Swiping bags for the Dragons were Sean Daly, Will Rose, Jonah Son and Cole.

Daly, Rose, Cole, Sam Morgan and senior Kevin Deely each had a pair of hits for the Dragons, who totaled 11 base knocks on the day. Son had the other hit for Sonoma. Deely and Cole doubled for the Dragons, the only extra-base hits of the game.
The Dragons were scheduled to take on Ukiah Tuesday afternoon, with details unavailable at press time.

Last week the Dragons had games against Northgate and Eureka rained out as the weather wreaked havoc with all spring sports schedules. The come-from- behind victory over Rancho signaled a positive rebuttal to the Dragon previous outing, a 17-1 loss to Acalanes.
