It was touch and go at Cornerstone Sonoma as the annual lighting of the snowmen was threatened by a cold rain. But with 600 people to entertain, the snowmen didn’t disappoint. Nor did Cornerstone with 25 pounds of chestnuts and marshmallows roasting in the courtyard, hot drinks being passed out in many of the shops and warm holiday jazz under the tents.
At the appointed time, out the snowmen came. What a thrill to see Tim Lincecum in snowman form complete with long hair and eight-foot bat. Local Sonoman Megan Clouse came up with the winning entry which was “a giant Giants snowman: in keeping with the Giants giant win this baseball season.
The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation was the recipient of the proceeds from the evening’s annual dessert savoring, held in the barn due to the inclement weather.
