Salsa Trading Company celebrates 20 years with anniversary sale

If you haven’t stepped into the chic Salsa Trading Company outpost on Broadway, just before Napa Road, you’ve missed out some of the best Wine County furniture and décor that the Valley has to offer.  Owners Edna Hayes and Bruce Needleman cater not only to homeowners with an eye toward style but also to many popular winery tasting rooms and hotel lobbies as well.  The couple and the store are celebrating 20 years in business this month with a great 20 percent off sale, including incredible pieces of native paper art, both stylish and eco-friendly.

Salsa Trading Company’s unique “salsa style” is a reflection of California’s heritage, mixing the flavors of Spanish colonial and early ranch with Native American and Mexican influences.  The collection of paper art follows suit.

In early times, “tule” paper was created from harvesting plants from the shores and rivers of Mexico and this unique method of using boiled fiber of plants and bark from trees to create original works of art mimics the ancient technique of producing paper. Today, artisans from Guadalajara have perfected the skill and use their own traditional paper making methods to produce these original and authentic pieces of art, many of which have the look and feel of suede or distressed leather.  As an added bonus, Salsa Trading will include subtle lighting with each purchase to give a gallery feel to pieces once they are installed.

Salsa Trading Company is located at 20490 Broadway, Sonoma, 939.1710 for more information.
