Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival 

Since 1897 the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival has been celebrating the Sonoma Valley’s bounty, community, and local culture. California’s second oldest festival (to the Pasadena Rose Parade), this Sonoma tradition takes place September 24-26 on and around the Plaza.

This year’s theme is “Vintages of our Past, Flavoring the Future.”

The events kick off on Friday evening inside the walls of the Barracks with the Patrons’ Night Gala, with food, wine and dancing to Pride and Joy.

Saturday morning starts off the weekend festivities in the plaza with the Blessing of the Grapes, a long-standing tradition of the festival, followed by a reenactment of the raising of the California Bear Flag, and the famous Grape Stomp competition. Sunday brings the annual Vintage 5K Run-Walk, this year with the inaugural Tiny Tracks race for kids, followed by the Wedding of General Vallejo’s Daughters reenactment, the popular Vintage Festival Parade and two stages with live music throughout the day. running throughout the festival.
