The proprietors of the new Cinnamon Bear Creekside Inn, Russ and Mary Ann Harrison, bring a wealth of hospitality experience with them to Sonoma.  The couple has owned the Cinnamon Bear Inn in Mammouth Lakes for years and found the perfect business opportunity when the former Trojan Horse Inn went on the market.  The newly refurbished Cinnamon Bear in Sonoma, located at 19455 Sonoma Highway, just north of the West Napa Street traffic light, is an inviting space complete with new furniture, new draperies and a new attitude.
“The inn has a gorgeous, serene backyard in a beautiful creekside setting,” said Russ Harrison.  “The town has been great to work with and everyone is so friendly and helpful. This has turned into a fabulous opportunity for us to open another inn here in Sonoma.”
Harrison and his handyman have been busy painting, installing new window blinds and air conditioners as well as flat screen televisions is in all the rooms.  Two of the rooms have jacuzzi tubs and there is also an outdoor hot tub for guests to enjoy.  The inn currently has seven rooms but Harrison is toying with expanding to 10 rooms.
Despite the refurbishments, the inn is still priced in the moderate range.  Mid-week accommodations are less expensive, priced around $99 per night.  Weekend rates run from $170 to $190 per night.  A complete hot breakfast is included in the room rate with offerings that include fresh omelets, stuffed French toast and Belgian waffles with whipped cream and strawberries.
“We want people to feel well taken care of when they’re here.  That philosophy has worked well for us at our other inn so it’s a good model for Sonoma, too,” said Harrison.  “We care about our guests and we want them to know it.”
